Jeff retired to New Bern, from New York, in 2019. Having been been a professional photographer and photographic printer for over 40 years he brings a new level of creativity to his images. In his own words "While looking through the lens of my camera I view my subject(s) as individual creations, each telling a story at a given point in time. I attempt to develop an intimacy with my subject, be it a person, landscape, old car, or any subject. I want to project this intimacy to my viewers so they become emotionally involved with the subject. I print my own images in order to create a mood that I want to convey to the viewer. I use various photographic programs on my computer to construct and enhance my images in order to show details that allow the image to come alive. Many of the techniques I use on my photographs allow me to add more detail to my photographs by adjusting the highlights, midtones, and shadows. I print my own work using an Epson professional printer, along with various fine art papers such as Hahnemuhle fine art metallic, Canson Plantine Fibre Rag, and Breathing Color canvas. Using various papers complements the look of my images. I spend hours creating and refining images so they reflect my artistic view, and hope that the people who view my images get the same feeling and pleasure that I do from creating them People have often asked me if my photos are paintings or drawings."
